COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College football team will open its 2011 season on Saturday, September 3, as the Bears host Albright in its lone non-conference game. The game will also be the debut for the new artificial surface at Patterson Field, which is currently being constructed. Game time for the home opener has yet to be announced.
The Bears then jump into their nine-game conference slate, starting with a 1 p.m. trip to Gettysburg on Saturday, September 10. All games will start with a 1 p.m. kickoff. A two-game home-stand follows, with the Family Day game on September 17 featuring F&M. Homecoming, which will follow on September 24, will see Ursinus host McDaniel. The Bears then travel to Moravian to face the Greyhounds on Saturday, October 1.
Following the bye week, of which all conference schools will be off at the same time as the Bears on October 8, Ursinus returns home to face Juniata on October 15.
On Saturday, October 22, Ursinus will travel to Susquehanna, followed by a trip to Johns Hopkins on October 29. The November 5 game will feature Muhlenberg at home, with the regular season coming to an end on November 12 at Dickinson.
The Bears, who were the 2010 Centennial Conference Champions, finished last season with a mark of 8-2 and 7-2 in league play.
