Football picked second in CC preseason poll

LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College was picked second in the 2012 Centennial Conference preseason football poll released on Wednesday at the conference media day.

The poll was voted upon by the head coaches and sports information directors in the conference, who were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Ursinus received 137 points and four first-place votes. Defending conference champion Johns Hopkins was first with 153 points and 14 first-place votes.
Muhlenberg was in third at 126 points and a first-place vote, while Gettysburg was fourth at 96 and Susquehanna fifth at 92.
Ursinus opens the 2012 season on Friday, August 31, with a 7:30 p.m. at The College of New Jersey.
