Football nets two Centennial Conference Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the Ursinus College football team were named as Centennial Conference Players of the Week on Sunday afternoon by the conference office.

Senior nose tackle John Carty (Cherry Hill, N.J./Paul VI) was named as the defensive player of the week, while sophomore kicker Eric Boyer (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) was named as special team player of the week.

Carty registered 10 tackles, including seven solo stops, as the Bears defeated Susquehanna, 30-10. He also had a sack among 2.5 tackles for loss as Ursinus limited the Crusaders to just 272 total yards. 

Boyer a perfect night, converting all three field goal and all three PATs in the win over Susquehanna. His three-pointers covered 33, 28 and 22 yards.

Ursinus (6-1, 5-1 Centennial) heads to nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
