COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College field hockey team will start its 2013 campaign at home on Saturday, August 31 with a noon matchup with Eastern Mennonite.
The home opener starts a stretch where Ursinus will play five of its first six games at Snell Field.
Following a trip to William Smith on Saturday, September 7, the Bears play the next four at home. The first game will also be the first Centennial tilt of the year as the Bears battle Gettysburg on Saturday, September 14.
On Wednesday, September 18, Ursinus hosts Bryn Mawr followed by a game with Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, September 21.
The homestand closes on Wednesday, September 25 against Messiah.
A two-game road trip begins on Saturday, September 28 at McDaniel, followed by a trip on Wednesday, October 2 at Haverford.
Another four-game homestand starts up on Saturday, October 5 with a matchup with Johns Hopkins. After a week off, Ursinus will host Elizabethtown on Saturday, October 12 followed by the Snell Cup game on Sunday, October 13, against West Chester.
Ursinus will take on Washington College on Wednesday, October 16, to end that stretch.
Following a trip to Dickinson on Saturday, October 19, Ursinus will host The College of New Jersey on Thursday, October 24 in the home finale.
The final three games will all be on the road, with trips to Muhlenberg (Saturday, October 26); Catholic (Tuesday, October 29) and Swarthmore (Saturday, November 2).
Ursinus is under the direction of Janelle Benner, who is in her third year as head coach.
