Ward named Centennial MBB Co-Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College sophomore forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) was named the Centennial Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday afternoon by the conference office, sharing the honor with freshman guard Adam Honig of Dickinson College.

Ward averaged 25.5 points and four rebounds per game while shooting 71.4 percent from the field in a 2-0 week. He tallied 31 points with three assists in the win against Johns Hopkins on Saturday and tossed in 20 in a key road win over Haverford on Wednesday.

For the season, he is averaging 19.8 points per game and leads the Centennial in field goal percentage at 63.3 percent.

The Bears (11-12, 8-8 Centennial) host Washington College on Wednesday evening. The Bears are one of three teams currently tied for the fifth and final playoff spot in the conference with just two games remaining.
