Hilton and Ward named All-Centennial

LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the Ursinus College men's basketball team were named to the 2011 All-Centennial team on Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.

Sophomore forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) was named to the second-team, while senior guard Matt Hilton (Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown Area) was named honorable mention.

Ward, a repeat second-team selection, led the team in scoring at 19.6 points per game and shot a team and conference best 63.4 percent from the field. He also attempted a team-best 233 foul shots, sinking 182 for a percentage of 78.1. Ward also picked up six rebounds a game during his sophomore campaign, where he was also named All-Centennial All-Academic.

Hilton, a repeat Centennial Conference honorable mention selection, finished his career with 1,318 points and finished with a three-pointer in 60 straight games, second best in Centennial Conference history. He also shot 91 percent from the foul line (274-of-301) during his four-year career, which also set a new conference record.

His three-point percentage (44.6) during his four year career also set a new Centennial record. Like Ward, he was a All-Centennial All-Academic selection.

Ursinus finished the season 12-13 and 9-9 in the Centennial Conference.
