The Ursinus College men's lacrosse team will play for a cause when it competes in the Meghan Puls Lacrosse Classic on Sunday, October 15.
The showcase, hosted by Stevenson University, will feature the Mustangs, Virginia Wesleyan, Franklin & Marshall, and Ursinus and will help to raise funds for the Meghan Puls Foundation. Proceeds from the games benefit the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and Lions Camp Merrick diabetes camp, as well as several other organizations. Admission is free, but a donation of $5 is encouraged.
The mission of the Meghan Puls Foundation is to keep alive the memory of Meghan Puls, the daughter of Stevenson assistant men's lacrosse coach Tim and assistant women's basketball coach Cassie who died from injuries suffered in a car accident in 2001, by helping families and children through supporting organizations in the areas of health services and research, youth recreation, and education.
The Bears are scheduled to play Virginia Wesleyan at 1 p.m. followed by an exhibition with Stevenson at 3 p.m. The Mustangs kick off the round robin tournament against Franklin & Marshall at 9 a.m.
