Bears take 2-1 win from Goucher
BALTIMORE, Md. – Ursinus sophomore forward Jean
Carlo Cordova (Quito, Ecuador/Spring-Ford) scored the
game-winning goal in the 75th minute as the Bears (3-8-1) defeated
Goucher (6-7-1) 2-1 on Wednesday night in men’s soccer
action.
Goucher took an early 1-0 lead 4:41 in as Tom Gray scored on a
rebound.
Ursinus tied the score at 20:53 as senior defender Tim
Brandon (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Red Lion) scored on an assist
from senior midfielder David Breines (Holland Township,
N.J./Del Val). The Bears defense limited Goucher to just
six shots on the night.
Sophomore goalkeeper Mike Alfieri (Mount Laurel,
N.J./Lenape) had four saves.
Ursinus heads right back to Baltimore on Friday, taking on Johns
Hopkins.
