MSoc ties Swarthmore, 1-1

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus and 19th-ranked Swarthmore played to a 1-1 tie Saturday night in men's soccer action.

Ursinus (4-4-1, 1-0-1 Centennial) got on the board in the first half when freshman forward Aaron Nelson (Fleetwood, Pa./ scored on a header in front of the goal on an assist by sophomore defender Jesse Hart (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township).

Swarthmore scored with 16 minutes left when junior defender Michael Superdock scored on a header as well, off an assist from sophomore defender Alec McClean and senior defender Jake Weiner

The Garnet (5-0-3, 1-0-1 Centennial) outshot the Bears 25-7, but, Ursinus' defensive unit kept Swarthmore off the board despite playing a man down due to a red card the final 25 minutes of regulation and in both overtimes. 

Junior goalkeeper Ryan Murphy (Sewell, N.J./Paul IV) made eight saves in the tie.
