Swimming swept at F&M

LANCASTER, Pa. - Ursinus was swept at both ends of a Centennial Conference dual meet on Saturday afternoon by Franklin & Marshall.

The women (8-2, 3-2 Centennial) were defeated 125-71, while the men (5-5, 1-4 Centennial) were handed a 124-68 loss.

Men
The men got a second-place finish from freshman Scott Paine (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) in the mixed 1650 free, as finished with a time of 17:15.35. Freshman Philip Quick (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional) finished second in the 50 free with a time of 22.96.

Sophomore Chris Smith (Wayne, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) won the 200 fly with a time of 2:01.85, while junior Lloyd Tannenbaum (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) took third in the 100 free at 50.66.

Paine finished third in a 200 back with a time of 2:02.93, followed by sophomore Kevin Tallon (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) finishing third in the 500 free at 5:19.25.

Senior Brad Garman (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) won the 200 breaststroke at 2:45.50, while the team of Smith, Tannenbaum, Paine and freshman David Yazbeck (Dorchester Center, Mass./Boston Latin School) won the 200 free relay at 1:32.23.
