Men's Track and Field set for three-day Centennial Conference Championships

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team will take part in the 2011 Centennial Conference Championships on Friday-Saturday and Sunday hosted by Muhlenberg College.

The Bears have several high seeds in many events heading into the three-day championship.

In the sprint/track events starting with the 110 hurdles, sophomore Chris Rountree (Lawnside, N.J./Haddon Heights) has a mark of 16.31 coming into the event, while he has an 11.86 in the 100 meter dash. Sophomore Jordan Grannum (New Rochelle, N.Y./Brunswick School (Conn.)) has a 22.78 seed time in the 200 dash, with junior Lance Jones (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Central) having a 23.19. In the 400 dash, Grannum has a 51.23, with freshman Chris Flood (Houston, Texas/Kingwood) having a 52.11 seed time. In the 800 run, senior Brendan Gifford (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) has a 1:56.68 seed time. In the 400 hurdles, Flood has a mark of 60.05 seconds.

In the field events, junior Chris Salaga (Florence, N.J./Florence) has a meet-best seed in the javelin throw at 56.10 meters, with junior Andrew Carr (Spring City, Pa./Spring-Ford) taking a high seed in the shot put at 14.82 meters.

In the jumps, Rountree has the top seed in the triple jump with a mark of 14.11 meters, while sporting a 6.19 meter mark in the long jump.

In the relay events, the team of freshman Conner Andres (Bell Mead, N.J./Montgomery), Grannum, Rountree and Jones are seeded fourth in the 4x1 relay at 43.90.
