Softball set to host Centennial Conference tournament

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – For the fourth straight, Ursinus College will play host to the Centennial Conference Softball Championships on Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2 at Eleanor Frost Snell Field.

Ursinus, the top seed in the tournament, will take on fourth-seeded Dickinson at noon on Saturday in the second game of the double elimination tournament. The day starts at 10 a.m. with second-seed Gettysburg taking on third-seed Swarthmore.

The losers of the first two games will meet at 2 p.m., while the two winners will meet at 4 p.m.

The consolation final is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday, with the championship series scheduled to start at noon on Sunday. A 2 p.m. game is scheduled if necessary.

Ursinus enters the tournament with a record of 27-5 and 15-1 in the Centennial Conference. The Bears hold a 7-1 record against the three-team field, with the lone loss coming to Gettysburg. Ursinus, who is ranked sixth in the most recent East Region poll, swept Dickinson in a doubleheader back on April 10 by scores of 8-2 and 1-0.

Dickinson enters the tournament with a record of 16-17 and 9-7 in the Centennial Conference.
