LANCASTER, Pa. – Three members of the Ursinus College softball team were named All-Centennial on Tuesday afternoon by the conference office. The team was voted upon by the head coaches in the league, who were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Junior outfielder Amy Gentile (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley) was named first-team while junior first baseman Allison Pfrommer (Franklinville, N.J./Delsea Regional) and junior pitcher Jennilyn Weber (Valley View, Pa./Tri-Valley) were named second-team.
Gentile, a repeat first-team selection, batted .362 on the team which was third best. She had three doubles, a triple and two home runs. She also collected 16 RBI and had 47 hits.
Pfrommer, a three-time All-Centennial selection, was a first-team selection the last two seasons. She finished with a .371 batting average with eight doubles, eight triples and 26 RBI. She also had 49 hits and seven stolen bases, in addition to having just a perfect fielding percentage)
Weber, a first-team selection last season, finished the season with a 14-10 mark with a 2.09 ERA. She had 116 strikeouts to just 28 walks, holding teams to a .245 batting average. She allowed just 46 earned runs in 154 innings pitched.
Ursinus finished the season 23-18, qualifying for the Centennial Conference playoffs for the 13th straight year.
