Women's Lacrosse to face F&M in Centennial Semifinal on Saturday
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's lacrosse team will begin its quest toward a Centennial Conference Championship on Saturday as the Bears take on nationally-ranked F&M at 3:30 p.m. in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Gettysburg College at Clark Field.
The Bears, making their first appearance in the tournament since 2007, are the third-seed in the tournament as they finished with a record of 11-5 and 6-3 in the Centennial Conference.
The Diplomats, who are currently ranked seventh in Division III and are the defending national champion, are the second-seed and enter the game with a record of 12-3 and 8-1 in the Centennial.
The winner of the second semifinal game, will take on the winner of the first semifinal which takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday between fifth-ranked and top Gettysburg and fourth-seeded Haverford. Haverford advanced to the semifinals with a win over Dickinson on Wednesday night.
The championship game is set for a 2 p.m. start on Sunday, with the winner receiving the conference automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III tournament.
Ursinus and F&M met back on April 3 in Lancaster, with the Diplomats taking a 17-6 win over the Bears.
Ursinus will be seeking their fourth Centennial Conference Championship, with the Bears winning it in 1996, 1999 and 2001.
