Furman, Thren named IWLCA All-Region

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. Two members of the Ursinus College women's lacrosse team were named to the IWLCA All-Metro Region team on Thursday afternoon. Senior midfielder Allison Furman (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) was named to the first team, while junior midfielder Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) was named to the second team.

Furman, a first-team All-Centennial selection this year, played in 16 games this season ranking third on the team in goals (20) and first on the team in assists with 29. She ranked second on the team in points with 49. Defensively, she had 46 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers along with eight draw controls. She ranked third in the conference in assists per game at 1.81.

Thren, a first-team All-Centennial selection, led the team with 46 goals and 51 points. She had a team-best 53 ground balls, 33 draw controls and added in 19 caused turnovers. Ranking sixth in the conference in scoring at 2.71 points per game, she had a team-best 33 draw controls.
