Women's Soccer blasts McDaniel, 5-0

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ursinus College freshman forward Sarah Cogswell (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson) and senior midfielder Alex Shivers (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) each had two goals, while sophomore forward Cecilia Mansson (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) and junior midfielder Jess Porcelan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) each had two assists as the Bears (7-5, 4-3 Centennial) defeated McDaniel (2-7-3, 1-4 Centennial) 5-0 Saturday afternoon in women's soccer action.

Cogswell scored 2:32 in on a Mansson assist for a 1-0 lead, followed by a goal from Shivers off a Porcelan assist for a 2-0 lead 25:48 into the game.

At 62:06, Cogswell scored again on a Mansson assist, followed by another goal from Shivers on a corner kick from Porcelan at 66:43 for a 4-0 lead.

The final goal came from sophomore forward Leah Shaw (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) at 77:34.

Three different goalkeepers played, as sophomore Justine Harvey (Accident, Md./Northern Garrett Co.) had one save, freshman goalkeeper Kara DiJoseph (Turnersville, Pa./Washington Township) had three saves and freshman goalkeeper Natasha Tonia (Franklinville, N.J./Saint Joseph) had one.
