Women's Soccer two better than McDaniel, 3-1

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ursinus got a goal and two assists from senior midfielder Jess Porcelan (Mechnicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) as the Bears (4-6, 2-3 Centennial) defeated McDaniel (1-7, 1-3 Centennial) 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in women's soccer play.

Porcelan scored her goal in the 56th minute, giving Ursinus an extra goal as McDaniel's Erica Diffendal had scored in the 51st minute to cut the Ursinus lead to 2-1.

Porcelan assisted on the first goal in the 32nd minute, as she kicked the ball into Brittany Williams off a corner kick for a 1-0 lead.

Freshman forward Ama Achiaw  (Damascus, Md./Westover School) then scored in the 49th minute, off of a Porcelan assist, for a 2-0 lead.

Ursinus, who had an 18-7 lead in shots, got four saves from sophomore goalkeeper Kara DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washingtown Township).

Ursinus will travel to Haverford on Wednesday.
