Sunday sees Bears win another gold at Centennial Conference Championships
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Ursinus College swimming teams finished up
the 2010 season on Sunday night in the third and final day of the
2010 Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Franklin &
Marshall.
The women finished in fourth place with 409 points, just two points
ahead of Swarthmore. The men finished in fifth place with a score
of 388.
The Bears crowned another champion on Sunday night as sophomore
Danielle Yentz (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) won
the 200 back with a time of 2:10.17, just .78 seconds ahead of
Elizabeth Schroll of Dickinson. Yentz had come into the event
seeded first, after getting a 2:12.56 in the morning
preliminaries.
The Bears started the night as senior Emily Herman
(Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham Township) finished fifth in the
1650 free with a time of 18:12.34, followed by senior
Lyndsay MacFeeters (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) in
11th place with a score of 18:45.90.
In the 200 back, senior Elizabeth Gombosi (Wellsboro,
Pa./Wellsboro) finished eighth with a time of 2:17.50. In
the 100 free, freshman Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our
Lady of Lourdes) finished 14th with a time of
56.08 and freshman Lianna Foster-Bey (Fairfax,
Va./Fairfax) was 16th with a time of 56.56.
In the 200 breast, junior Bridget Winn (Coatesville,
Pa./Coatesville) was sixth with a time of 2:29.70, Junior
Jessica Saloky (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) was
ninth with a time of 2:29.67, while junior Kacie McCormick
(Springfield, Pa./Springfield) was 16th with a
mark of 2:40.66.
In the 200 fly, Herman finished eighth with a time of 2:19.67,
while Yentz was 11th with a time of 2:22.21.
In the 400 free relay, the team of freshman Jeannie Weaver
(Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest), Foster-Bey, senior Melissa
Krupa and Kolosky was fifth with a mark of 3:43.44.
In the morning preliminaries, Gombosi was eighth in the 200
back with a time of 2:17.64.
In the 100 free, Foster-Bey was 11th with a time of
55.93, with Kolosky in 13th place with a time of
56.02.
Wynn took fourth in the 200 breast prelims with a time of 2:30.79,
while Saloky was ninth with a time of 2:33.45 and McCormick was
16th with a time of 2:38.67.
In the 200 fly prelims, Herman was sixth with a time of 2:16.13,
while Yentz was 11th with a time of 2:22.98.
