Women's Swimming drops first meet of year, 147-115 to Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team lost for the first time in the 2012-13 season on Saturday, dropping a 147-115 decision to Gettysburg.

Ursinus got first-place finishes from freshman Corinne Capodanno (Claymont, Del./Padua Academy) in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:56.65, the 100 fly at 1:00.52 and in the 50 free at 25.17, junior Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School) in the 100 back at 1:00.18, the 200 back at 2:09.22 and in the 200 IM at 2:14.50 and freshman Kyleigh Hamilton (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) in the 200 fly at 2:15.70

Second place finishes were earned by sophomore Chelsea Kozior (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) in the 100 free at 56.69, Hamilton in the 200 back at 2:18.77 and the 100 fly at 1:03.92.

Junior Eva Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) got a third-place finish in the 100 breast at 1:12.77, as did Kozior (500 free, 5:32.48) and Hamilton in the 200 IM at 2:19.02.

The team of Lair Ferrari, senior Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), Capodanno and sophomore Anne Ludwig (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:00.00.
