Mark Feinberg enters his seventh season as head coach of the Bears men's and women's swimming program. He became a full-time member of the athletic coaching staff in April of 2008.

Since taking over, the men have set 16 of the possible 19 team records while the women have broken 13 of 19 team records. Both teams have steadily climbed their way into contention of the Centennial Conference by more than tripling their point totals from the 2005 to 2011 Centennial Conference meet. In 2011, Ursinus men and women finished with historic highs including 22 school records and over 70 personal best swims.

A native of Williamsport, Pa. and a 1989 graduate of Shippensburg University, Feinberg came to Ursinus after spending 10 years as an assistant swimming coach at West Chester University, where he led the Golden Rams to multiple top five finishes at the Division II championships during is tenure. After earning his master’s degree in sports management from West Chester in 1997, he served as an instructor in the department of kinesiology until 2004.

Before arriving to West Chester, Feinberg spent two years as the head coach of the Bristol CT Sprinters swim club from 1993-95.

At Shippensburg, Feinberg was a four-year swimmer and two-time All-American. After college, he went on to swim at the YMCA Masters becoming a six-time national champion. Feinberg is now an active tri-athlete completing his first Ironman in 2007.

He currently resides in Collegeville with his wife and two children.

Jerilyn Kucharski enters her seventh season as an assistant coach of the men's and women's swimming program. A 2004 graduate of West Chester University, she was a four-year varsity letterwinner and four-time All-American on the swim team under Feinberg.

Kucharski was also a three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion in the 200 medley relay, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay. Her senior year, she was named captain of a team that was ranked fourth in the nation. She received the WCU Outstanding Scholar-Athlete award for the 2003-04 season, while earning the PSAC Scholar-Athlete award from 2001-03.
A native of Salisbury, Pa., Kucharski earned a bachelor of science in criminal justice from West Chester. She currently resides in Quakertown, Pa. with her husband.

Rick Ringenwald

Rick Ringenwald

Title: Assistant Swimming Coach
College: Vermont '88

Rick Ringenwald begins his second season as an assistant coach at Ursinus. A 1988 graduate of the University of Vermont, he was a four-year varsity letter winner and captain of the men's swim team as a senior. He was the 1988 Vermont collegiate state champion in the 1000-freestyle and 400 free relay. He was also part of the school record setting 800 free relay in 1985. 

Prior to college, he attended Hatboro-Horsham High School where he was a three-year varsity letter winner and captain of the team during his senior year. He held school records in the 200 medley relay, 100 free and 400 free relay. He was also a top ten finisher at the PIAA District I Championships. He also earned the most valuable swimmer award as a senior. 

A resident of Collegeville with his wife Patti, and two children. He earned a bachelor of arts in environmental studies, and later earned a master of science in environmental health.  

Matt McGuirman

Matt McGuirman

Title: Assistant Swimming Coach

Matt McGuriman enters his first season as Bears assistant coach. McGuriman grew up in Pennsylvania and started swimming for the Hatfield Sharks at age eleven. He coached the Sharks until 2010.

Matt was a four-year letter winner at Lansdale Catholic High School and was the team's captain his junior and senior years. He was a member of the 400 free relay team that still holds the school record.

McGuriman received his degree in English from Cabrini College and swam for the Cavaliers. He was part of the first relay to qualify for the ECAC championships and swam the 50 free and 100 breast at the meet as well. He holds five school records including both breaststroke events and three relays.

Justin Kucharski

Justin Kucharski

Title: Assistant Swimming Coach/Massage Therapist
College: West Chester '04

Justin Kucharski begins his first season with Bears Swimming as the team’s massage therapist. 

A graduate of Pennsylvania Institute of Massage Therapy, Justin will be with the team at meets and join the team’s training trip in January to provide important recovery and injury prevention.

Kucharski is a 2004 graduate of West Chester University and was on the track & field team throwing shot put and discus. 

Justin currently serves as an assistant track & field coach at Quakertown Senior High School near his home where he resides with his wife.
