Women's Track shines at Lehigh
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's track and field team closed up the first semester late Friday night at the Lehigh University Invitational.
Freshman Victoria Goodenough (Oxford, England/McDonough School) set a school record in the 60 high hurdles, finishing with a 9.46 which shattered the old record of 10.06.
In the sprint events, junior Kirsten King (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) was fourth in the 60 meter dash at 8.26, with senior Lauren Lammers (Haddon Heights, N.J./Bishop Eustace) finishing eighth with a time of 8.45. In the 60 hurdles, freshman Amy Galvin (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) was fourth with a time of 10.05. Galvin won the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters, with sophomore Celina Sooksatan (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) in sixth at 1.45 meters.
King would forge a second place finish in the 400 dash at 1:01.23, followed by freshman Francesca Macera (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) in fourth at 1:04.15, sophomore Carina Doyle (Holliston, Mass./Hollison) in fifth at 1:05.91, freshman Rachel Albershardt (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) in sixth at 1:11.35 and freshman Epiphany Summers (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Girls High) in seventh at 1:16.09.
In the 800 run, sophomore Jordan Kellogg (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was eighth with a time of 2:32.75. Continuing in the mile run, senior Deb Yanessa (Haddonfield, N.J./Paul IV) was second with a time of 5:44.71, followed by junior Stephanie Donatone (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) in third at 5:47.48, Albershardt in fifth at 5:54.46, junior Sabrina Cimerol (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) in sixth at 5:57.33, junior Meghan McDermott (Yonkers, N.Y./Hackley School) in seventh at 6:10.33 and sophomore Jackie Kimmel (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) in eighth at 6:17.67.
In the triple jump, sophomore Leah Shaw (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) was fourth with a mark of 9.79 meters, with freshman Maria Fendrick (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area) in fifth at 9.76 and sophomore Olivia Hovick (Glen Mills, Pa./W.C. Bayard-Rustin) in eighth at 9.11 meters.
In the shotput, freshman Katie Wiliams (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) was seventh at 10.36 meters.
