Women's Track and Field set for Centennial Championships
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's track and field team is prepared for the three-day 2011 Centennial Conference Championship meet, hosted by Muhlenberg College Friday-Saturday and Sunday.
The Bears have several high seeds heading into the meet.
In the 100 hurdles, freshman Victoria Goodenough (Oxford, England) has a mark of 15.28, which is the best mark coming into the meet. She also has the third best seed time in the 400 hurdles at 1:07.12. In the 400 meter dash, junior Kirsten King (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) has a mark of 58.40, which is just .02 behind the top seed. Freshman Amy Galvin (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) is seeded first in the high jump at 1.67 meters.
In the 100 dash, sophomore Amanda Laurito (Philadelphia, Pa.) has the second best seed in the event, with a time of 12.64, but, has the best seed time in the 200 dash at 26.14.
Turning to the field events, in the pole vault, junior Amy Schaefer (Warrington, Pa./C.B. South) has a seed of 3.09 meters. Sophomore Ticora Adams (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy) is seeded second in the javelin throw at 32.82 meters.
