Ready To Host

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College track and field teams will be hosting the 2012 Centennial Conference Championships this weekend, starting on Friday and going all the way to Sunday.

It's the final of three meets at home for the Bears on their newly renovated track at Patterson Field. Ursinus has had two strong meets at home, and are looking to make a splash at the conference championships.

On Wednesday night, the performance lists were released and several Bears received high seeds heading into the championship.

Starting with the throws, Bianca Bartoli is third in the javelin at 34.90 meters, with Amy Schaefer eighth at 31.58.

In the shot put, Amanda Birnbrauer is third at 11.60 meters, while Katie Williams is eighth at 10.77.

Ursinus has four of the top eight seeds in the high jump, paced by Celina Sooksatan with a 1.62 meter seed. Amy Galvin is second at 1.60, followed by Anna Lopresti (1.57, 3rd) and Annie Hudson (1.56, 5th).

In the pole vault, Lauren Surman is fourth at 3.15 meters, while Schaefer is sixth at 3.04 meters.

 In the long jump, Sooksatan is seventh at 4.86 meters.

On the track, Amanda Laurito is first in the 100 meter dash at 12.45 and in the 200 at 26.19. In the 100 meter hurdles, Victoria Goodenough is second at 14.87.

In the 400 meter dash, Jessica Matusky is seventh at 1:01.24, followed by Lauren Goldstein in eighth at 1:01.58.

In the 400 hurdles, Goodenough is second at 1:06.24, while Carina Doyle is third at 1:06.89.

In the relays, Ursinus is second in the 4x1 (50.10), third in the 4x4 (4:03.02) and fourth in the 4x8 at (10:04.08).
