LANCASTER, Pa. – Six members of the Ursinus College women's track and field team garnered All-Centennial Conference honors.
Sophomores Caroline Buckley (triple jump) and Catherine Buczek (4x400, 400 hurdles), juniors Katherine Damato (4x400) and Jenna Kelly (4x400), and senior Erin Farrell (4x400) secured second team laurels, while sophomore Mikaela Bordonaro (javelin) received honorable mention.
The Centennial Conference awards all-league status on the basis of performance at the championship meet. Winners earn first team status, while second place is rewarded with second team honors and third place is accompanied by honorable mention.
Buckley shined in the triple jump, garnering her first career conference medal with a 35-9.50 that stood as a personal best and earned her a silver.
Bordonaro, meanwhile, joined the Bears' ranks of first-time conference medal winners with a third-place finish in the javelin; her toss of 114-10 was just three inches out of second place.
Buczek, Damato, Kelly, and Farrell navigated the track in 4:02.36 in the 4x400-meter relay, the fastest time by a Bears' relay unit in five years. It was the eighth conference relay medal for Farrell, the fifth for Buczek, the second for Damato, and the first for Kelly.
Buczek was also named to the All-CC Sportsmanship Team.
