2011 Volleyball schedule released

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College volleyball team released its 2011 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, with the Bears opening up play on Friday, September 2 at the Moravian College tournament. The Bears will take on Gwynedd-Mercy to start the season at 6 p.m., followed by a matchup with host Moravian at 8 p.m.

The Bears will play two more matches on Saturday, with Friday's results in the other two pools determining Saturday's schedule. Ursinus returns home on Tuesday, September 6, to host Delaware Valley at 7 p.m.

Following the home opener, the Bears hit the road for several matches, starting with a 7 p.m. matchup on Thursday, September 8 at Widener University. On Sunday, September 11, the Bears will take part in the Stevenson University tournament starting with matches against FDU-Florham (8:30 a.m.) and Philadelphia Biblical (10:30 a.m.).

The Bears open up Centennial Conference play on Saturday, September 17 at home as they host Gettysburg. The homecoming opponent will be F&M at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24.

Home matches include dates with PSU-Harrisburg (Tuesday, September 27 – 7 p.m.), Bryn Mawr (Thursday, September 29 – 7 p.m.), Johns Hopkins (Saturday, October 8 – 1 p.m.) and Washington College (Wednesday, October 19, 7:30 p.m.).

The Bears will travel to Rutgers-Camden (Tuesday, September 13 – 7 p.m.), Swarthmore (Tuesday, September 20), McDaniel (Saturday, October 1), Haverford (Wednesday, October 5, 7 p.m.), Neumann University (Sat-Sun, Oct. 15-16), Dickinson (Saturday, October 22 – 1 p.m.) and Muhlenberg (Wednesday, October 26 – 7 p.m.).
