Groff named head volleyball coach

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.  – Ursinus College Director of Athletics Laura Moliken has announced the hiring of Joe Groff '80 as head women's volleyball coach.

"We are excited to have Groff on board," said Moliken. "He will continue to build upon the success of our volleyball program."

Groff is no stranger to the volleyball program, as he served as the head coach of the volleyball program from 1986 to 1990. His coaching pedigree also includes tenures as head coach at various age brackets of teams affiliated with the Keystone Juniors Volleyball Club, the Sunoco Golden Masters (for men 55 and older), and Visitation school Varsity CYO volleyball teams.  Groff has also served on staff as a lead clinician for Nike Volleyball camps held at Rutgers and Fairfield Universities, conducted  volleyball training clinics at Triple Crown Academy in Oaks, Pa. as well as clinics associated with the Keystone Volleyball Club.

From 1982 to 1995, he was an active player in the United States Volleyball Association. He has held coaching certifications in both Level I and Level II of the Coaching Accreditation Program administered by the USA Volleyball Association.

Groff graduated in 1980 from Ursinus with a degree in Economics with a History Minor, and later earned an associates degree in Accounting from Ursinus in 1989.
