The Ursinus College gymnastics team has released its competition schedule for the 2020 campaign.
Included among the Bears' annual meets at Temple and West Chester are a pair of B1G opponents, a trip to Kent State, a double weekend, two meets featuring the defending national champions, a Senior Day in January, and an in-house Valentine's Day exhibition.
Head coach Kim Valenti's squad will debut to the public with a Red/Gold intrasquad meet on December 6 in the Bears' practice facility. Official competition begins in earnest on January 12, when Ursinus welcomes NCGA East Region counterpart Cortland to Helfferich Gymnasium for the home and season opener.
Following the lid-lifter, the Bears head to Rutgers on January 18 for a quad meet featuring two other Division I programs in Minnesota and Bowling Green. Ursinus returns to Collegeville for its second and final home date, a Senior Day tri-meet with West Chester and Ithaca on January 26.
Ursinus makes the first of two annual trips to Temple on January 31 to take on the Owls and Bridgeport in a tri-meet, then heads to Springfield on February 9 for a tri-meet with Ithaca.
The first annual Valentine's Day Intrasquad is set for 6 p.m. in the practice facility on February 14, a week before a rare double weekend feature. The following Friday, the Bears will put their talents on display in a special 'Unite for Her' PINK Invitational at the Philadelphia Convention Center, a showcase that also includes Temple, West Chester, Illinois State, and Southern Connecticut State. That Sunday, Ursinus goes to Ithaca for a tri-meet with defending NCGA champion Brockport.
The Bears then ship out for Ohio and a quad meet at Kent State on February 28, then wrap up the regular season with a dual at Temple on March 8.
Springfield is the site of the NCGA East Regional championship on March 15, and Ithaca will serve as host of the NCGA championships on March 28.
